Le sempre maggiori informazioni presenti in rete e il sempre maggiore interesse dei chitarristi per il vintage dei poveri hanno portato il mercato all’offerta di repliche di tutte le forme e i colori, più o meno fedeli ai mitici strumenti europei degli anni ’60. Andiamo a vedere cosa offre il mercato e alcuni aspetti del fenomeno che per alcuni versi, quello razionale, appare paradossale. Ma siamo nel campo del feticismo, diamine!

Hagström guitars hold a place in musicians´ hearts. Many of the world´s greatest played Hagström instruments, from ABBA to Zappa. Other international star users are Jimi Hendrix and Elvis Presley. Musicians of a younger generation have also discovered these Swedish quality instruments, for example The Cardigans and Sahara Hotnights.

This richly illustrated book – more than 400 photos – displays not only the guitars and basses made in the Älvdalen main factory between 1958 and 1981, but also Hagström instruments sold under other brand names, and instruments built in the Falun and Oslo factories, and by Bjärton. The close to 200,000 Hagström guitars made are a symbol of Swedish musical, cultural, and industrial history and a fine example of Swedish design.

Author Mikael Jansson is a journalist and musician, and in 2006 published a book (in Swedish) about the Hagstrom company history, “Musik for miljoner”.

For over a half provided the company Älvdalen Hagström in Sweden and the world of musical instruments – accordion first, then electric guitars and amplifiers. AB Albin Hagstrom expanded, from being a one-person housed in ‘Snuff-Gustavs shop “in Älvdalen, to be a global company with over 400 employees in several factories, plus nearly 50 stores in Scandinavia.

This is the story of a classic American entrepreneur who started with two empty hands, but with a huge operation and the head full of ideas and visions, and not only built and sold musical instruments, but also learned the Swedish people to play on them.

There is also a great piece of 1900s entertainment and cultural history, depicting Hagström relationships with artists as diverse as Carl Jularbo, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, Sven-Ingvar, Charlie Norman, The Cardigans, Owe Thörnqvist, Elvis Presley and ABBA.

Museo della chitarra “Oliviero Pigini”

“Il Museo della Chitarra “Oliviero Pigini” è stato inaugurato il giorno 22 Maggio 2004 ed è stato realizzato grazie alla collaborazione tra il Comune di Recanati e la Eko - nella persona del suo Direttore Generale Stelvio Lorenzetti. La collezione attualmente esposta vuole essere solo un primo nucleo di un museo di maggiori dimensioni e di più ampia articolazione. Questo, per seguire le indicazioni di Don Lamberto Pigini, fratello del fondatore della Eko, che in anche in questo modo intende rendere omaggio alla memoria di uno dei più illuminati imprenditori italiani.”

The Guitar Museum ‘Oliviero Pigini’ was opened on May 22, 2004 and was realized thanks to the cooperation between the Local Authority in Recanati and the Eko – in the person of its General Manager Lorenzetti. The collection in show at this moment aims at being recognized as just the beginning of a much bigger and more articulated museum. This are the indications given by Don Lamberto Pigini, the brother of the founder of Eko, who by doing so intends to pay homage to one of the most enlightened Italian business men’.
