During 1965 the original Vox Lynx model was relieved by the substantially modified Super-Lynx. The former featured old Crucianelli double-coil pickups, the latter was equipped with new Eko single-coils. Both types had three-tone sunburst as their favourite finish.

At the same time Crucianelli was upgrading its guitars with new humbuckers and temporarily returned to two-tone finishes. There must have been a short transition moment in which a few renewd Crucianellis were shipped with a Vox logo.

This one for instance, with its distinctive trapeze tailpiece and its magnificent amber-burst finish (similar to the one Eko frequently used at that time but much warmer and friendlier). Congrats to the happy owner, we hope he found a fitting bridge.

There are not many Vox Lynx with Crucianelli humbuckers like this around. It's so rare that it actually shouldn't even exist. It's one of those curiosities that makes crucianollogy a so exciting science.

Durante 1965 la Vox Lynx originale venne sostituita da un modello modificato sostanzialmente: la Super-Lynx. La prima aveva i vecchi pickups Crucianelli a doppia bobina, alla seconda furono dati dei nuovi avvolgimenti singoli di Eko. Entrambi i modelli avevano il 3-tone sunburst come finitura di predilezione.

Nello stesso momento Crucianelli stava migliorando le sue chitarre con nuovi humbuckers e ritornò provvisoriamente al 2-tone sunburst. Ma ci deve esser stato un breve attimo in cui alcune Crucianelli rinnovate sono state spedite con il marchio Vox.

Questo esemplare, ad esempio, col suo inconfondibile attaccacorde ed il suo magnifico amber-burst (vicino a quello usato spesso da Eko in questo periodo ma molto più caldo e simpatico). Congratulazioni al felice proprietario, speriamo che abbia trovato un ponte adeguato.

Non ci sono molte Vox Lynx con humbuckers Crucianelli come questa. Infatti è tanto rara che non dovrebbe nemmeno esistere. E' una delle curiosità che fanno della crucianologia una scienza tanto eccitante.
