The three-cutaway design was a must for every guitar maker in the Castelfidardo-Recanati district during the early to mid-60's. Here is the rendition submitted by Crucianelli.

Honestly, it's far from looking as good as the trend-setting Eko 700. The shark-bite is too faint and doesn't fit well with the long horns (in my opinion). Similarly to the Eko 700 this series was offered as a deluxe alternative to Crucianelli's normal solid-body models. There wasn't any poor man's version with one pickup or no trem. But unlike the Eko 500 and 700 that were produced in parallel and evolved at the same pace from the beginning to the end, this triple-cutaway model was launched about one year after the conventional solid-body series and survived it for about twelve months.

This guitar was available with two or four pickups (rarely three) and in a bass version. Marketed in Europe under the brand Elli-Sound, in the U.S. as PANaramic. Crucianelli logo'd examples have been seen. No other brand known. Why not Elite? I'd like to know. To summarize, this is a good ugly axe that sounds quite good, with a special kind of beauty based on its rarity.

Six generations have been identified:

1. Big Horns : same pickups as conventional Crucianelli solidbodies of 1963, old style rounded headstock, sparkle or perloid plastic finish, body contour à la Stratocaster (1962-63)

2. Big Horns and New Style Pickups, and a zero-fret too (1963)

3. Thin Horns and Old Headstock: well, that sums it up. The narrower upper horn causes the logo to move from body to headstock (1963)

4. New Headstock and Old Controls. Angled headstock, no more body contouring. Lacquered finishes increasingly replace sparkle celluloid (1964-65)

5. No More Rocker Switches, they are substituted with a rotary pickup selector (1965-66)

6. Fake Humbuckers — and Fender style headstock (1966)

Versions #1 to 3 are seen virtually only in Europe. Versions #5 and 6 are mainly found in North America. Type #4 is the least rare on both sides of the water.

Il disegno a tre spalle mancanti (diciamo così) era una forma obbligata per tutti i liutai della zona di Castelfidardo-Recanati nella prima metà degli anni 60. Questa è l'interpretazione di Crucianelli. Onestamente, in termini estetici, è notevolmente inferiore al modello 700 di Eko. Troppo timido "il morso di pescecane" che non si armonizza bene con i corni allungati (a mio avviso).

Similarmente alla Eko 700 questo modello era proposto come alternativa di lusso alle solid-body normali di Crucianelli. Non c'erano versioni per poveri con un pickup solo o senza vibrato. Ma a differenza delle Eko 500 e 700 che furono prodotte in parallelo e che ebbero una evoluzione sincrona dall'inizio alla fine, la triple-cutaway di Crucianelli venne lanciata circa un anno dopo la solid-body convenzionale e gli è sopravissuta per circa dodici mesi.

La chitarra era disponibile con due o quattro pickups (raramente tre), e in versione basso. Distribuita in Europa sotto il marchio Elli-Sound, e in USA sotto PANaramic. Esistono esempi con la firma Crucianelli. Nessun

In breve, una buona brutta chitarra che suona proprio bene, e la cui rarità è la sua bellezza.

Sono state identificate sei generazioni:

1. Corni Grossi: pickups come sulle solidbodies convenzionali del 1963, vecchia paletta arrotondata, finitura in plastica a brillantini o perlinata, contour alla Strato sul corpo (1962-63)

2. Corni Grossi e Nuovi Pickups, e inoltre un tasto zero (1963)

3. Corni Sottili con Vecchia Paletta: beh, dice tutto. Il corno superiore dimagrito costringe il logo a traslocare verso la paletta (1963)

4. Nuova Paletta con Controlli Vecchi. Paletta angolata in arrivo, mentre il contour se ne va. Finiture verniciate prendono sempre di più il posto della celluloide (1964-65)

5. Addio Pulsantiera, essa viene sostituita da un semplice deviatore rotatorio (1965-66)

6. Pseudo-Humbuckers — e paletta in stile Fender (1966)

Le versioni 1-2-3 si fanno vedere quasi solo in Europa. Le versioni 5 e 6 si trovano soprattutto in America. Il tipo 4 è il meno raro su entrambe le rive dell'oceano.
