Congratulations to the webmaster, he owns one of the rarest Crucianelli ever!
It hasn't left any other record (as far as I know) than in the 1965 Imperial Tonemaster catalogue featuring this guitar as its top-of-the-line under the name "Astro".
Interestingly, Crucianelli's specific humbuckers (2 x 6 screws plus two for height adjustment) show up for the first time on this guitar. They were to be fitted on other models some time later.
This "Astro" guitar was obviously intended as an answer to the Eko Cobra. It could be quite likely that at that time, as Eko and Crucianelli were starting their shipments to Vox, a tacit partnership began between both company so that Crucianelli withdrawed from solidbodies to focus on semi-acoustic guitars, and the Astro was soon discontinued. Congratulazioni al webmaster, ha una delle più rare Crucianelli di tutti i tempi! Questo modello è documentato solo (per quanto ne so) dal catalogo di Imperial Tonemaster (USA) del '65, che la presentava al top di gamma con la denominazione "Astro".
Interessante notare che in questa chitarra appaiono per la prima volta gli humbuckers particolari (2 x 6 viti + 2 per la regolazione dell'altezza) che Crucianelli introdurrà in seguito sugli altri modelli.
Questa Astro era ovviamente intesa come la risposta alla Eko Cobra. È molto probabile che allo stesso tempo, per favorire le forniture a Vox, iniziò fra Eko e Crucianelli una divisione tacita del lavoro in modo che quest'ultima si ritirò dal campo delle solid bodies per specializzarsi nelle semi-acustiche, e la Astro venne presto abbandonata.
