Here is an Auriga!! The boundary between original (Vox Mandoguitar) and imitation is very faint. Eko exceeds it brilliantly and manages to create a guitar with an originality of its own..

The Auriga belongs to that transition phase following Pigini’s death, when the management was disoriented and the market was entering the 70s. Belonging to the same period are the almost unknown hollow-body models like the Pictyor and Cygnus holding some Crucianelli genetic trace. The tuners and are covered by a lid bearing the Eko logo. There must have been a bigger Eko logo on the pick-guard. Pretty dark red, a lot darker that the one from the photos taken with flash. This Eko, like the Rokes and many other Vox models, is a guitar that can’t be played sitting down. The electronics organized as follows: general volume and volume and tone for each pick up. Very original for an Eko. The fingerboard and the neck are more modern and faster than the ones from the 60s. The bridge doesn’t seem original. The tremolo is the classic 102 model mounted on the solid bodies of the time.

Ecco una Auriga!! Il confine tra l'originale (Vox Mandoguitar) e l'imitazione è labilissimo, Eko lo supera brillantemente e riesce a costruire una chitarra con una sua originalità.

L'Auriga appartiene a quella fase di transizione successiva alla morte di Pigini che vide un management disorientato e un mercato che entrava negli anni 70. Sono dello stesso periodo semiacustiche semisconosciute come Pictyor e Cygnus con qualche traccia genetica di Crucianelli .

Le meccaniche "di precisione" fanno il verso alle Grover e sono chiuse da un coperchietto che riporta il logo Eko. Doveva esserci una scritta Eko più grande sul battipenna. Rosso abbastanza scuro, molto più di quello delle foto fatte con il flash (impazienza). Questa Eko, come la Rokes e molti altri modelli Vox, è una chitarra impossibile da suonare seduti. L'elettronica è così organizzata: Volume generale + volume e tono per ciascun pick-up. Abbastanza originale per una Eko (a memoria). La tastiera e il manico sono più moderni e più veloci di quelli degli anni 60. Il ponte non sembra originale. Il vibrato è il classico modello 102 montato sulle solidbodies dell'epoca.
