It is really a barytone guitar!!! Such instruments were relatively
popular in the years 1963-65. Jet Harris, former Shadows's bass
player, scored a #1 hit ('Diamonds') in winter 1962-63 with his
Fender Bass VI (a barytone with a vibrato...), Höfner issued
in 1963-1964 such a six string bass, some other European makers
did too. But Eko : this is new to me! Truss-rod adjustment is on
body end, hence this instrument is post-1965. Yellow-burst finish
is typical for Eko semi-acoustics from 1964-1965. Pickups are the
same as those on the Dragon bass on the 1967 catalogue.
This is a guitar that SHOULD be featured on the 1967 catalogue but
is NOT.
Maybe a one-off, or a very limited production run that wasn't even
mentioned on any catalogue. (JM)

Höfner ne produsse una come altri costruttori europei ma non
avevamo mai visto una della Eko. La regolazione del truss-rod è
in fondo al manico quindi è posteriore al 65. La finitura
è tipica per le semiacustiche 64/65. I pick-ups erano gli
stessi visti sul basso Dragon nel catalogo del 67. Questa chitarra
avrebbe dovuto essere sul catalogo 67 ma non c'é! Forse un
esemplare unico, una richiesta speciale o un piccolo lotto che non
valeva la pena di essere inserito in catalogo (JM)
