GIEMMEI by C.Catania

Made in the late 50's, obviously sourced from the Sicilian builder Carmelo Catania (who at the same time also delivered to the Meazzi company similar models, with just the same distinctive f-holes). The guitar has been equipped with an aftermarket pickup from more or less the same era (the 'MB' marking means 'Montanari Bologna', a business that took in the early 60's the name Montarbo, still famous for its sound systems). The Van Ghent tuners were fitted by current owner, they are not original but being a model used for Vox they are in some way part of the Eko tradition.

Fatta alla fine degli anni 50, evvidentemente dal costruttore siciliano Carmelo Catania,che alla stessa epoca forniva alla Meazzi modelli analoghi con le caratteristiche buche a effe. È stato aggiunto un pickup più o meno contemporaneo. La sigla 'MB' sta per 'Montanari Bologna', una firma che prese nei primi anni 60 il nome Montarbo, tuttora famoso per i suoi sistemi di sonorizzazione. Le chiavette Van Ghent sono state sistemate dal presente utente, non sono originali ma essendo un modello già usato per Vox si inseriscono in un certo modo nella tradizione Eko.
