A Framez model at the price of a Bontempi ?’

A guitar made and labelled Abramusic, the logo of the luthier from Catania Francesco Abramo. The electronics and the design are typically Meazzi to testify the close link between the Sicilian producers and the Milanese factory. It’s a little more than a toy with semi-hollow-body , wooden neck, the profile of a small Selene. No standard jack output on the pick-guard, aconnector that reminds a dedicated portable amp.

It’s very difficult to unravel the intertwined models and parts and we’ll never know whether it was Abramo to make the more traditional Transonic version or Meazzi that drew from this creation for his model in plastic.

Easily seen on this guitar is the breaking down effect of the red pigments in the sun light. The back is unblemished, the areas on the top not exposed to the light remained red.

Abramo has left us but his follower is worth a visit in Sicily: Nocive Lab di Orlando.

Una chitarra costruita e marchiata Abramusic, marchio del liutaio catanese Francesco Abramo. L'elettronica e il disegno sono tipicamente Meazzi e testimoniano il rapporto stretto tra i produttori catanesi e la casa milanese. Poco più di un giocattolo con cassa semi-hollow-body (due piccole camere tonali) e ponte in legno, il profilo di una Selene in sedicesimo. Uscita dal battipenna assolutamente custom. Un connettore che farebbe pensare a un amplificatore portatile dedicato (vedi).

Rimane difficile districare l'intreccio di modelli e parti e non sapremo mai se Abramo realizzò la variante più tradizionale della Transonic o se Meazzi partì da questa creazione per il suo modello in plastica

Su questa chitarra è possibile vedere chiaramente l'effetto di decomposizione del pigmento rosso alla luce del sole. Il retro è rimasto integro, sul top le zone rimaste in ombra sono rimaste rosse.

Abramo non c'è più ma il suo discepolo merita una visita in Sicilia:
