A guitar all in black-and-white, with an extremely smart finely striped evening dress. Classy! This is one of the many special finishes exclusively used by Welson. There is on the back another marble-perloid celluloid, a finish that seems to be specific to this generation and that has never been seen on any other guitar. On the other hand you may find the same on Italian made drums, those manufactured by Meazzi under the Hollywood brand!

The headstock shape is a handsome variation on the traditional Fender standard. Did you notice that it is strangely similar to the design Leo Fender himself developed eighteen years later for his G&L range?…

Hardware is all-original. The machineheads are the well known open Van Ghents also featured by all Hagström Kent and most of Eko 400, 500 and 700 series. Welson didn’t use them systematically, other tuners may be seen on that series while being nonetheless original.

There is a label on the back of headstock reading ‘US Patent P.’, which probably wanted to mean ‘US Patent Applied For’. At any rate all guitars of that generation found so far are located in France or Germany.

Una chitarra tutta in bianco e nero, come un vestito da cerimonia a righe fini di estrema distinzione. Che classe! Questa finitura è una delle tante usate esclusivamente da Welson. Sul retro c'è ancora un celluloide madreperla marmorizzato, una finitura che sembrava riservata alle Welson della presente generazione e che non si è mai fatto vedere su altre chitarre. Ma la si può osservare identica sulle batterie Meazzi della gamma Hollywood!

La sagoma della paletta è una elegante variazione sul tradizionale disegno Fender. Avete notato che rievoca stranamente quello ideato 18 anni più tardi dallo stesso Leo Fender per la sua gamma G&L?…

L'hardware è tutto originale. Le chiavette sono le ben note Van Ghent aperte montate anche su tutte le Hagström Kent e quasi tutte le Eko 400, 500 e 700. Welson non le usava in modo sistematico, altre meccaniche si vedono ogni tanto su questo modello anch'esse originali.

L’etichetta dietro la paletta dice ‘US Patent P.’ e probabilmente intendeva dire ‘US Patent applied for’. Comunque tutte le Welson della presente generazione incontrate finora si trovano in Francia o Germania.
