With its semi-circular shape the new vibrato assembly looks roughly like the previous version but the internal mechanism is completely different. The arm is now attached Jazzmaster style, between bridge and string ends.

The device was built by the same unknown hardware maker who supplied all non-Eko tremoloes in Castelfidardo in the 60’s, but the design was Welson proprietary. Welson will still be mounting a barely modified version of it on its SG copies of the early 70’s. (JM)

La sagoma semi-circolare del vibrato è simile a quella della versione precedente ma il meccanismo interno è totalmente diverso, con la leva ormai articolata al modo della Jazzmaster, fra il ponte e l’estremità delle corde.

Il dispositivo era prodotto dallo stesso sconosciuto fornitore di hardware che faceva tutti i vibrato di Castelfidardo (eccetto che per Eko ) negli anni 60, ma la concezione è specifica di Welson. Sarà ancora usata senza modifiche sostanziali per le Welson tipo SG dei primi anni 70. (JM)
