Important changes occur with this last generation of the model. The neck becomes thinner, is no longer covered with celluloid and is bolted on to the body instead of being glued in. The headstock assumes a simpler Fender.ish shape. Standard Van Ghent tuners are substituted with Italian made items, with strangely small metal buttons that are Welson specific.

Following a silly trend started short before by the Fender Jaguar, there is a string damper that is just as useless as the bridge cover. But it’s nice to have both devices still there to maximize vintage value.

Importanti cambiamenti in arrivo con l’ultima generazione del modello. Il manico è più snello, non è più coperto con celluloide, non è più incollato ma avvitato al corpo. La paletta prende una forma più semplice, alla Fender. Alle chiavette standard Van Ghent si sostituiscono meccaniche italiane i cui bottoni metallici (stranamente piccoli) sono specifici di Welson.

Secondo l’idiota moda lanciata poco prima dalla Fender Jaguar, il ponte è dotato d’una “sordina“ altrettanto inutile del copriponte, ma è bello avere a posto queste due cose per massimizzare il valore vintage.
