Insane No-Name Bass

The only standard Welson component here is the tailpiece + bridge system. Body obviously originates from Welson, but look at the offset f-holes, isn't that insane! Nonsense pickguard looks like being loosely inspired from the Eko Florentine. Never seen anything like this one.

The pickups are almost certainly those fitted on Galanti Grand-Prix basses. The tuners, with their aluminum buttons, are also those that equipped the second generation of those Galanti basses.

The neck-plate (as usual) gives a hint about the origin of that instrument. Its distinctive profile also shows on Gherson guitars as well as minor brands that emerged in Recanati around the year 1970 —Bentler, Buxon, Gary, Jackson etc.

Il solo componente proprio di Welson è il sistema attaccacorde + ponte. Il corpo è ovviamente Welson ma guardate le buche spostate tutt'in fondo, è pazzesco! L'assurda mascherina potrebbe esser stata più o meno imitata dalle Eko Florentine. Mai visto niente di simile.

I pickups sono quasi con certezza quelli dei bassi Galanti Grand-Prix. Inoltre le chiavette con bottoni alluminio sonio quelle che si montavano sulla seconda generazione di quei bassi Galanti.

La placca del manico ci da (come al solito) una traccia dell'origine di questo strumento. Il suo profilo inconfondibile si ritrova sulle Gherson nonché su vari brands minori emersi a Recanati intorno all'anno 1970 — Bentler, Buxon, Gary, Jackson etc.
