Framez + Meazzi
+ Dynelectron
Meazzi is one of the most popular
labels of musical instruments in Italy, set in Milan rather than
in the Castelfidardo area like the Eko & Co. It produced also
drums and distributed a range of imported brands until few years
ago.
The production of the Meazzi Brothers can be divided in four major
phases
- The production in Sicily after WW2 of musical instruments with
a Framez brand.
Meazzi Brothers = FRAtelli MEaZzi
- Meeting Wandré Pioli (1957?) and the beginning of the
production of guitars and double basses like Framez and Meazzi,
with and without Wandrè. From 1961 Wandrè
starts producing and distributing in partnership with Athos Davoli
- 1962 - guitars by Panati in Stradella (PV)
- 1963 - 1969 Hollywood serie. Like many Italian producers stood
out for creativity and innovation realizing various models with
active electronics and unusual shapes. Luciano remembers in particular
the quick silver switch of the active circuits that switched
the guitar on when put in the correct position for playing.
After 1969 Meazzi continues to distribute entry-level acoustic guitars but
probably not all the production was by itself, we mention in fact, guitars
being produced in Japan until few years
ago. The chronology, the Dynelectron models
by Meazzi, the supply by Welson of some guitars and some primitive similarities
with the Castelfidardo school are all still to be examined closely.
Meazzi è
uno dei marchi storici degli strumenti musicali in Italia.
Produttore lombardo, a differenza della tribù marchigiana
di Eko &
co, è stato anche produttore di batterie e distributore
di vari marchi fino a pochi anni fa.
